Student Life
Audacious
How great is our God? He is audaciously amazing and wonderful is He?
Today we experienced a great time of worship both in the morning and the evening sessions of our Student Life General Sessions. We were brought into God’s presence by two very gifted and anointed worship leaders.
As we explored the prospects of being truly audacious for God, we learned the importance of being honest and truthful with not only, God, but ourselves and others as well.
We were challenged to consider how lavishly God gives His love to His children. When you consider the limitless nature of God’s love for us, is it any wonder that regardless of how far we may roam or what we may do: He is always watching and waiting for us to return to Him and when we do He is willing to welcome us back with open arms.
We focused on the aspect of being on our guard against principalities, powers and spirits of wickedness that try to distract and deter us from keeping our focus on God. We were challenged to honestly deal with our relationship with God and where we are versus where we want to be and how determined and willing we might be to make a commitment to do something about it.
This evening we were challenged to further consider how extensively God celebrates the return of one of His lambs. The illustration of the celebration thrown by the father of the prodigal son illuminates the parallel to the way God celebrates when one of His lambs returns to His watchful care.
Overall this was a day filled with challenges and opportunities to reflect and asses our personal spiritual lives and God’s reactions and feelings about us and where we are and where we have the potential of being with Him.
Prayer
Father, teach us to be introspective, reflective and honest not only with you, because you already know the truth, but also help us to be honest with ourselves and help us to see what you see in us and even more so, let us be willing to allow you to help us change those things that need to be changed.
