Defects, Faults and Weaknesses
Today’s Thought:
“Our very defects are shadows of our virtues.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
Today’s Quotes:
“The greatest of faults is to be conscious of none.” – Thomas Carlyle
Today’s Question
Were you aware that: “It is a trait of fools to perceive the faults of others but not their own?” – Cicero
Today’s Bible Verses: 2 Corinthians 12:7-10
And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
Today’s Spiritual Thought:
“Bear with the faults and frailties of others, for you too have many faults which others have to bear.”
- Thomas a Kempis
- Thomas a Kempis
Nothing or no one is perfect, except for God.
Whether we like to admit it or not we all have weaknesses, faults, failing and what some might even label as defects.
Yet, God loves us and wants to work in and through us in spite of all the limitations we might posses. Isn’t that amazing.
“But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:” – The Bible (1 Corinthians 1:27-28)
If we think we are without faults and weaknesses we are like the person who says he has committed no sin, “the truth is not in us.”
God can take our defects, our faults, and our weaknesses and He can use them for His glory, if we will only let Him.
“I am weak, but Thou art strong;
Jesus, keep me from all wrong;
I’ll be satisfied as long
As I walk, let me walk close to Thee.” – Ken Biddy (lyrics from ‘Just A Closer Walk With Thee’)
Jesus, keep me from all wrong;
I’ll be satisfied as long

“All I had to offer Him, was brokenness and strife, but He made something beautiful out of my life.” – Bill Gaither (lyrics from ‘Something Beautiful’)
He is willing and ready to take all that you are (good and bad) and make something wonderful and useful from what you give Him; Are you willing?
Today’s Prayer:
Father, take me, make me and mold me into whatever you need for me to be to accomplish whatever you want to do.
