Can I Get A Witness?

Today’s Thought:
One filled with joy preaches without preaching.  – Mother Teresa

Today’s Quote:

“Example moves the world more than doctrine.” – Henry Miller

Today’s Question

Would you agree with the notion that: “The best teachers of humanity are the lives of great men [women]?”     Charles H. Fowler

Today’s Bible Verses:                   Revelation 12:10-12 & Acts 1:8

And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.  Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Today’s Spiritual Thought:

“If you can’t be a good example, then you’ll just have to be a horrible warning.” – Catherine Aird

“Lives of great men all remind us we can make our lives sublime; and, departing, leave behind us footprints on the sands of time.”    Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

To be a witness is to testify to or give a first hand accounting of the facts as you know them and believe them to be true.

Spiritually speaking, to be a witness is to live a life that demonstrates and testifies to the love, mercy, grace and greatness of God.

For Christians being a witness or testifying is more than giving a speech, making a once in awhile presentation or answering a few questions: it is rather a lifestyle lived as an act of worship and obedience to the one from whom you have received life everlasting.

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” – The Bible (Romans 12:1)

As Christians our witness, our testimony needs to be a twenty-four seven, three sixty-five perpetual ongoing thing.

It must be more than what we say: it must incorporate what we do: who we are and how we live.

Witnesses should know that they stand before God Who will call them to account.    Louis I. Newman (from ‘The Talmudic Anthology’)

We will answer to God for our witness and our testimony someday.  What will He say of ours?  Hopefully we will hear, “Well done my good and faithful servant.” – The Bible (from Matthew 25:21)

Can I get a witness?

Today’s Prayer:

Father, may my life be a living testimony to your love and may my witness be holy and acceptable in your sight.
