The Spiritual Principle of
Being A Visionary
Today’s Thought:
“A fool sees not the same tree that a wise man sees.” – William Blake
Today’s Quote:
“We are like dwarves upon the shoulders of giants, and so able to see more and farther than the ancients.” – Bernard of Chrtres
Today’s Question:
Have you ever considered this notion; “The degree of vision that dwells in a man is a correct measure of the man?” – Carlyle
Today’s Bible Verses: Proverbs 29:18, Joel 2:28 & 1 Corinthians 13:9-12
Where there is no vision, the people perish:
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
Today’s Spiritual Thought:
“You see things; and you say, ‘Why?’ But I dream things that never were; and say, ‘Why Not?’" – George Bernard Shaw
A visionary is someone who can see promise or possibilities for a time in the future: someone who believes that something that may not have been done yet, can be done and done successfully.
Spiritually speaking, we need to be visionaries. A visionary believes in the possibilities of things he or she cannot see. For a Christian, this is called faith. “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” – The Bible (Hebrews 11:1)
We know that without faith it is impossible to please God: and since it takes faith to be a visionary – then it stands to reason that part of pleasing God is being a visionary.
We, as Christians need to be visionaries in our approach to ministry and service for God.
We need to be willing to go wherever the Spirit leads us: doing whatever the Spirit leads us to do, even if it is something we haven’t done before. We need to have enough faith to visualize the success of whatever God leads us too.
Today’s Prayer:
Father, may I be a visionary in faith: seeing great things ahead and believing that with you all things are possible.
