The Protectorate Provision
“Our security is not a matter of weapons alone. The arm that wields them must be strong, the eye that guides them clear, the will that directs them indomitable.”
- Franklin D. Roosevelt
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
Psalms 91:1-11
God has promised to never leave us or forsake us: He has promised to protect and defend us: and He has guaranteed that we will be more than victorious: yet still we worry, fret and often doubt how things are going to turn out in the end.
While, it is true that Satan goes about like a roaring lion seeking who he can devour: just like God shut the mouth of the lions in the den for Daniel: God will shut the lion’s mouth and mute his roar when it comes to the devil.
The only way the devil can obtain a victory in our lives, is if we let him. This does not mean he may not influence those around us: even that he may win a skirmish or two in their lives, if they give him that place: but his affect and impact on us is solely relegated to the degree to which we allow him to have power over us.
God has already given us the guarantee of His protection: are we willing to invoke the power of His promise and to allow His protectorate provision to provide safety and security for us?
The only way the devil can get us down; is if we fail to embrace God’s promise in unwavering faith, knowing that He is more than able to do what He has promised.
Are you under the cover of His protectorate provision for you?
Today’s Prayer
Father, help my unbelief, my lack of faith and my weakness in the face of adversity. May I be bold and strong, not in my ability, might or power but in your Spirit knowing you’ve got it all under control.
“There is a candle in every soul
Some brightly burning, some dark and cold
There is a Spirit, who brings a fire
Ignites a candle and makes His home.
Frustrated brother see how he’s tired to
light his own candle some other way.
See now your sister she’s been robbed and lied to
Still holds a candle without a flame.
So carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the lonely, the tired and worn.
Hold out your candle for all to see it,
Take your candle, go light your world.“
- Lyrics from ‘Go Light Your World’ by Chris Rice
