The Biggest Looser
How many times a day do you think you miss a blessing because you don’t take the time to be a blessing?
Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Matthew 25:34-40
“You never lose by loving. You only loose by holding back.”
- Barbara De Angelis
One of the most motivational passages of scripture that inspires me to serve God by serving others is the one above.
To think that every time we do something to serve another person it is the same as serving God personally.
I am always moved by the idea from the lyrics in the Christmas song, ‘Mary Did You Know’ where Mark Lowry wrote; “When you’ve kissed your little baby; Then you’ve kissed the face of God.”
If we could grasp the idea that God is touched by our acts of love, devotion and service for each other and we could comprehend that in a sense the way we treat each other is the way we are treating God: we might change some of our actions.
I would imagine when we hurt each other, cause each other strife, turmoil and pain whether emotional or physical we are also hurting God as well.
We are all His creation and He loves His creation and He is affected by what each of us experiences and feels.
When we hurt God by hurting others we loose: but when we bless God by blessing others we become equally if not even more blessed.
So how have you been treating God lately?
Today’s Prayer
Father, help me to always remember, that in effect, the way I treat others has a correlation to the way I am treating you.
