And Let The Praises Begin

Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the Lord hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted.
Isaiah  49:13

“Among the [needful] duties of life I hardly know any one more important than that of [giving] praise where praise is due.”
-       Sydney Smith

Christians know that at the name of Jesus every knee will one day bow and every tongue will confess His greatness and His glory: but we have not only the honor and privilege, but also the duty to praise Him daily, perpetually without reserve or restraint.

When one knows of someone as great, powerful and awesome as He is; how can we help but praise and adore Him?

When we consider all that He has done and is doing in our lives; how can we restrain ourselves from declaring His praises?

Our words and our deeds need to declare our love, gratitude and admiration of Him.

He delights in the praises of His people: and who is there among us that does not desire to be able to delight our God?

May it be our desire each day to follow the directives in this chorus:

We bring sacrifice of praise…
…And we offer up to You
The sacrifices of thanksgiving
And we offer up to You
The sacrifices of joy.
-       Kirk Dearman (lyrics from ‘We Bring the Sacrifice of Praise’)

Today’s Prayer

Father, in all I do, may I bring on the praise and never forget who you are and how much praise you deserve.
