Take A Walk – On The Water

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.  Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.  And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:11-13

“No amount of manifest absurdity… …could deter those who waned to believe from believing.”
-          Bernard Levin

As a kid, when I heard the story about Peter walking on the water to meet Jesus, I always thought that being able to walk on water would be one of the coolest things a person could ever hope to do.  In fact, I must confess, I even tried to do it.  I didn’t tell anybody I was trying to do it and of course I didn’t succeed, not because it can’t be done if it were a part of God’s plan: but for a nine year old kid it wasn’t part of the plan and needless to say I was a little disappointed.

Yet, as an adult I have come to realize there have been many times in the course of my life that I have indeed walked on the water, so to speak.  I of course don’t mean the literal experience of stepping out on a body of water and walking across the top of it with out sinking in: but I have stepped out into many seemingly impossible situations and have walked through victoriously without drowning in the circumstances or situations that comprise the experience.

Walking on water, figuratively speaking is nothing more than stepping out in faith into uncertain situations and trusting in God as we walk towards His provision and purpose for our lives.

Are you willing to take that step of faith and follow God’s plan for your life, by walking on the water of your circumstances and situations by trusting and believing God to get you through without your drowning?

If you are then you can walk on the water too.

Prayer:

Father, keep me ever and always willing to step out in faith and walk on the water, in my life, with You.
