A Tribute To Mother’s

“Mamma always had a way of explaining things so I could understand them.”
-  Forrest Gump
Today’s Thought:

“There is no slave out of heaven like a loving woman; and, of all loving women, there is no such slave as a mother.” Henry Ward Beecher (from ‘Proverbs from Plymouth Pulpit’)

Today’s Question

Did you know, “Mother’s write on the hearts of their children what the world’s rough hand cannot erase?”   Unknown

Today’s Spiritual Thought:

“If one wants to see genuine beauty,
he will find it in the tender lines that
sacrificial love has drawn upon a mother’s face.”
- Unknown

“A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.”
- The Bible(Proverbs 12:4)
“Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.  She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar. She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet. She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple. Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land. She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant. Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.  She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.”
- The Bible (Proverbs 31:10-31)

There are so many Mothers in the Bible that it would be impossible to list them all.  A few of the most noteworthy are of course Eve, Miriam, Hannah, and of course Mary, just to name a few.

Mothers are the closest things to angels I think we can experience here on Earth.  God has given the, a heart to love and the ability to embrace and cherish their children, regardless of situation or circumstance.

In our modern world, God’s perfect plan for Mother’s has gone somewhat amiss; but for the most part there is no love like a Mother’s love and no one will give more and sacrifice as much as a mother will for her child(ren).

“Let France have good mothers, and she will have good sons.” – Napoleon Bonaparte
“If we want to change our nation, begin by enlisting the mothers.” - Sir Winston Churchill
“All that I am, or hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.” – Abraham Lincoln
“The greatest teacher I ever had was my mother.” – George Washington

God bless you each and every one and Happy Mother’s Day!

Today’s Verses:

My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother: For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.
Proverbs 1:8-9

Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.  Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
                        Ephesians 6:1-3

Today’s Prayer:

Father, thank you for Moms!
