Obstacles – Everybody’s Had ‘Em

(But it’s what you do with them that makes the difference)

“Yesterday ended last night.
Every day is a new beginning.
Learn the skill of forgetting. And move on.”
-  Norman Vincent Peale
Today’s Thought:

“Every path hath a puddle.” John Ray

Today’s Question

Did you know,  “Every exit is an entrance somewhere else?” – Tom Stoppard

Today’s Spiritual Thought:

“We must look for the opportunity in every difficulty instead of being paralyzed at the thought of the difficulty in every opportunity.”
- Walter E. Cole

“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.”
- The Bible (Isaiah 54:17)

“Man is most uniquely human when he turns obstacles into opportunities.” – Eric Hoffer

Obstacles in life are unavoidable.  If you journey down life’s highway, you will hit a few potholes and come across a roadblock or two.

John Krasinski put it quite aptly, when he said, “We are capable of freaking ourselves out way beyond comprehension.”  We tend to over react some of the time and under react at others.

Baseball manager Frank Lane said, “If you want to see the sun shine, you have to weather the storm.”  This is true in our physical world and it is also true spiritually speaking.  If we want to see the Son shine in all His glory sometimes we have to weather a few spiritual thunder storms and the occasional spiritual hurricane.  Tropical storm Lucifer can do some damage if we don’t remember who we are in Christ.  Hurricane Beelzebub can destroy if we give him to much room to move around in our lives.

Troubles that pop up on the road of life, like obstacles, will try to get in your way to weaken your resolve, test your faith, steal your joy, but you need to remember, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” – The Bible (1 John 4:4)

Keep this in mind as your travel life’s highway, “The only difference between stumbling blocks and stepping stones is the way you see them.” – Anonymous

We can do all things through Christ, who gives us strength and nothing is impossible, so when you come across that next obstacle look at it and see an opportunity for God to do something great in your life.

“Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.” Dale Carnegie

Today’s Verses:

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
2 Corintians 10:3-5

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
                        Ephesians 6:10-18

Today’s Prayer:

Father, I know who I believe in and I am convinced that you will keep me safe and help me get over, under around or through every obstacle both natural or spiritual that I encounter.  Thank You!
