Being Prepared

Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:

And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.

Proverbs 24:3-4

I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

2 Timothy 4:1-2

Quote of the Day

“There are four steps to accomplishment: Plan purposely, Prepare prayerfully, Proceed positively, Pursue persistently.”

Today’s Thoughts and Insights

Do you know what is coming your way?  Ready or not – here it comes.  So doesn’t it seem somewhat reasonable and almost logical, at least from a spiritual perspective, to be prepared?

How does one go about preparing for something when they may not know exactly what it is they are getting ready for?

For the Christian it means daily taking up our cross and following:  being crucified with Christ daily by dying to the flesh and rising to walk by the leading of His Spirit: daily putting on the whole armor of God: daily feeding on the bread of life by reading and meditating in and on His words:  drinking each day at the springs of living water by prayer and praise: and daily yielding, submitting and surrendering to His plans, His will and His purpose for our life.  We must let Him order our steps and we must follow the light of His illumination on our pathway.

If we can accomplish these tasks daily then we will undoubtedly be prepared for whatever God has in store and we will be ready to face whatever life brings our way.

Are you ready?  Are you set?  So let’s go into all the world and do the work of the Father’s kingdom by shining His light and sharing His love everywhere we go.

Today’s Prayer

Father, great and glorious, amazing and illustrious; praise, honor and adoration I bring to you today.  Prepare me to be a sanctuary of your presence to do your work and to accomplish your will today and each day that you bring my way.
