God’s Promises
For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife. Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
Hebrews 6:13-18
Quote of the Day
“The promises of God are certain,
but they do not all mature in ninety days.”

Today’s Thoughts and Insights
Have you ever experienced a broken promise: whether it is one you made or one someone made to you? I’m sure you have. But with God there are no broken promises. All of His promises are yes and amen. When God makes a promise – you can take it to the bank – so to speak; because it is a sure thing. “God’s promises are like the stars; the darker the night the brighter they shine.” – Anonymous
Isn’t it reassuring to know that there is someone who will never disappoint or let you down? Men will always fall short in some way, whether intentionally or unintentionally – but Jesus never fails, nor does His Father: our Father.
One thing we must realize though is that in keeping His promises, God is not always instant to our demand or expectation. Keep in mind His ways are not our ways and His sense of time is not always the same as ours. Sometimes His promises take time. Remember Abraham, Moses, the prophets who for-told of the coming Messiah. And remember His promise to us that He is preparing a place for us that where He is we can be also.
That’s one promise I’m looking forward to, how about you?
We must not lean on our understanding, or rely on our sense of time; but by faith we must trust his promises and obey His instructions.
Today’s Prayer
My Father, which is in Heaven, you are radiant, glorious, reliable and worthy of all praise, thanksgiving and devotion. Thank you for your promises and may I never doubt but rather, may I always believe.
“God didn’t promise an easy voyage, but a safe arrival.”
