Who Are You Gonna Trust
It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.
Psalms 118:8-9
…nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
2 Timothy 1:12
Quote of the Day
“And this be our motto, ‘In God we trust.’” – Francis Scott Key
Today’s Thoughts and Insights
Most folks place a high premium on the value of trust.
Being able to trust someone is sometimes easier said than done, especially if, in the past, that person has ever given you a reason not to trust him or her.
And sadly, many people put their trust in things such as careers or investment and bank accounts, which can and often do diminish or disappear.
Who or in what do you put your trust?
When it comes to the matter of trust from a spiritual perspective: it is often easy for us to say we trust God; but do we really?
To trust means to accept completely and in totality everything that someone says as being truth. And in trusting God it means doing what He says we should and believing He will do what He has promised.
Often, as Christians, we say we trust God, but we don’t act like we trust God.
And do you ever wonder if God trusts you?
Have you ever given Him any reason not too?
Have you ever made promises to Him that you haven’t kept?
Do you say one thing to Him in your prayers and then do another when you walk out the door from your prayer closet?
One thing we can know for certain, though people may disappoint us from time to time and even let us down: God never will. Even though we may not be worthy of His trust because we have failed Him often: God is gracious and willing to forgive and give us another chance.
So in whom or in what are you gonna trust?
If you say God, then remember you need to do more than say it you need to live. It.
Today’s Prayer
Father, you’re so glorious and wonderful and worthy of praise, honor, adoration and trust. You deserve greater praise than I am capable of giving but I still want to praise you to the best of my abilities in not only word but also in deed. And I want to ask you to help me live worthy of your trust in me and demonstratively of my professed trust in You.
“It is better to suffer wrong than to do it, and happier to feel you are sometimes cheated than not to trust.”
- Samuel Johnson
