Learning to be Content
But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity.
Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Philippians 4:10-13
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Matthew 6:33-34

Today’s Thoughts and Insights
To be content we must learn to be satisfied and happy with where we are and what we have available to us at any given point or juncture in our lives.
True contentment allows us to see the good that is surrounding us: the potential that is right in front of us; and the possibilities that are awaiting us right here and now where we are.
Being content allows us to have inner peace because we know God will supply what is needed. He will empower and enable us to accomplish His desires and He will not abandon nor forsake us.
Contentment says, ‘God will not bring me to what He will not carry or see me through.’
Absolute contentment allows God’s provision to be just what we need, when we need it, with never to little: always enough; and often more than is necessary.
So just how content are you?
Today’s Prayer
Father I lift my eyes unto the hills from whence my help comes from and I delight in the joys of knowing you are sufficient for all I need. Your grace, your mercy, your love, your forgiveness and your provision are more than enough to carry me through whatever needs may arise and I delight in you. Help me to be steadfast, resolved and willing to always be content in you.
