Living Faith

Can the world see your faith in action?

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Romans 10:17

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
James 1:22

“The Bible describes a process of faith formation, one that integrally involves the Word at every step.
Hearing the Word initiates faith.
Speaking the Word activates faith.
Doing the Word demonstrates faith.”
-       Steven Furtick

Christians are fond of saying, ‘if you have the faith the size of a grain of mustard seed, you can move mountains:’ but I haven’t seen many mountains being moved.

We must have faith to believe that God is who He says He is and that He rewards those who seek him with diligence.  And most of us have no problem with attesting to our agreement and embracing of this concept.  Yet scripture also tells us that faith without works is dead.

The moral of this story, if you will, is simply this: it is not enough to say we have faith: testimony itself is not enough to substantiate irrefutable proof and evidence that said faith exists: there must be some demonstrative, tangible, discernible demonstration of that faith in action, if we really want to prove to God that it exists.

Scripture says without faith it is impossible to please God: part of pleasing God is actively serving Him.

Does your faith need a little CPR?

Today’s Prayer

Father, may my faith be real, alive and active so that the world can see that what I say is proven by what I do.
