Go and Teach
Are you busy attending to the Father’s business?
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Matthew 28:18-20
“The world can only be grasped by action, not by contemplation.”
- Jacob Bronowski
Jesus came to earth to accomplish the will of His Father. He once told His mother, “Do you not know; I must be about my Father’s business.”
As His followers do we find ourselves being about the Father’s business?
Acts 1:8 gives us a clear definition of exactly what we need to be doing and we have even been promised God’s power, by His Spirit to be able to accomplish this objective. Are we availing ourselves of His power; are we allowing the fullness of the power and presence of His spirit to be activated in our lives?
We are told in scripture that without faith it is impossible to please God and we are further told that if we truly love Him – we will keep His commandments.
Are we doing these things, diligently, dutifully and to the best of our ability?
If not then we are not about the Father’s business.
Doing the will of the Father requires more than sitting in a pew on Sunday; it demands that we go out into the world and teach and preach and proclaim the glorious news of His Gospel message of hope and salvation; healing and deliverance: life and forgiveness.
So are you ready to be about the Father’s business?
Today’s Prayer
Father, may I be about your business faithfully; following the example of my Elder Brother, Jesus.
