Daily Thought for Wednesday, November 30th

Where Would You Like To Go

Today’s Thought:

“If you don’t know where you are going, you wind up somewhere else.” – Yogi Berra

Today’s Quote:

“A journey is like a marriage. The certain way to be wrong is to think you control it.– John Steinbeck

Today’s Question:

“Do you know where you’re going to: Do you like the things that life is showing you: Where are you going to: Do you know?” – Gerry Goffin & Michael Masser (lyrics from ‘Theme from Mahogany’)

Today’s Bible Verses:          Matthew 7:13, Matthew 18:2-3 & Matthew 7:20-21

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to
destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:  Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven

Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Today’s Spiritual Thought:

“This world is not my home I’m just a passing through….” – Albert E. Brumley (lyrics from ‘This World Is Not My Home’)

“This is my temporary home, it’s not where I belong: Windows and room that I’m passing through:  This is just a stop, on the way to where I’m going: I’m not afraid because I know, this is my temporary home.” – Zac Maloy, Luke Laird & Carrie Underwood (lyrics from ‘Temporary Home’)

Earth is no ones final destination.  When our life on earth ends, we each will arrive at our eternal home: it will be one of two places: either heaven or hell.

Hell is a place where the fire is never quenched and there will be perpetual torment, weeping and wailing.  On the other hand, Heaven, will be a place of beauty, peace and perfection.

When you think about it in those terms it would seem so logical where most would want to go: yet there is only one way to get there and sadly to many people aren’t willing to accept the terms and conditions necessary to ensure them a place there.

The only way to get to Heaven is to acknowledge and admit that you are a sinner in need of a Savior.  Then you must believe in your heart that Jesus died for your sins and you must genuinely, and truthfully repent and ask Him to forgive your sins and come into your heart and be your Savior.  If you do this it will become obvious to all who know you there has been a change in your life.  For scripture says “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” – The Bible (2 Corinthians 5:17)

And if for some reason, you choose Hell as your final destination, you need not do anything you’re already on your way.

So where do you want to go?

Today’s Prayer:

Father, thank you that some day soon and very soon, I will be coming to see the King and will join you for all eternity in my Heavenly home, because the blood of your Son Jesus, has washed me white as snow.  Thank you!

“Remember wherever you go, there you are.”
- Earl  MacRauch
