Go On Loving You
Today’s Thought:
Now abides faith, hope and love – the greatest of these is love.
Today’s Question
How do I love thee – let me count the ways?
Today’s Spiritual Thought:
When we think of God’s love, we think in terms of boundless, endless, great and beyond restraint.
Your love for me
New as the dawn
Older than time
Stronger than death
Greater than life
This love is mine.
But what do we think of when we think of our love for Him?
Often we think it is complicated, measured, unproven, sometimes limited by our doubts fears and insecurities. But it should not be this way. We may not posses the capacity to understand God’s love but somehow I think deep within is us God has endowed us with the ability to love as selflessly, unrestrainedly and limitlessly as He does. I just don’t think we ever achieve the fullest of our potential.
May this be our desire, our prayer and our hearts cry:
This is my prayer
This is my cry
I want to go on loving you.
All through the joy
All through the fire
I want to go on loving you.
Season will change
People depart
But I want to go on loving you.
In times of pain when life is hard
And when the journey seems so long
Still I want to go on loving you.
In everything through all my life
I want to go on loving you
This is my prayer this is my cry
I want to go on loving you.
Today’s Verses:
Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Matthew 22:35-39
Today’s Prayer:
Father, may I faithfully strive to reach my potential in learning to love as much as you want me too.
(Lyrics from Praise Song “Go On Loving You” Vinyard Publishing)
