Living for Heaven in 2011- Continue by Letting Go and Letting God

Is it your way or the highway or is it possible there might be another way to get things done?

Today’s Spiritual Thought:

Living for Heaven in 2011 requires us to let go of our own ideas and desires and necessitates that we embrace His.  And this is not just a truth to be applied to our own lives but also to the lives of those around us and for whom we pray for.

Often we believe we know what God needs to do, not only in our situation, but in the situations that others are facing too. 

We often want to tell God what to do, rather than to ask Him what should be done.

I don’t think God minds when we share our thoughts with Him as long as at the end of the day we are willing to let it go, if it is not what He knows is needed or what He deems is best.

We always want to pray for God to fix things, and sometimes fixing from our perspective, might only impede what He has just beyond the horizon, yet waiting for us to embrace.

Troubled times are here often filling hearts with fear; yet each day of turmoil and distress brings His imminent return ever more near.

Sometimes we need to pray, even so Lord Jesus, come quickly; rather than fix my world so I don’t have to deal with it.

Sometimes we need to let go and let God take us through the pain, the loss the trials and the frustrations, because in so doing we are allowing Him to equip, instruct and enable us to be ready to do grater works than those we could do if we did not go through what He wants us too.

Don’t be afraid to walk through the storm; always holding your head up high, because you know you never walk alone.

He will walk with you and talk with you and when you will let Him He will do what He knows needs to be done.

Are you ready to face it; embrace it and let 2011 be all about Him?

Isaiah 55:8-9

Today’s Prayer:

Father, all my thoughts, desires, hopes and dreams, without you don’t mean a thing, so enable me to let go and let you do it all your way, every day, remembering that I am just the instrument or the vessel you are the source and the power.
