Why Me

Today’s Thought:

“Why me, Lord?”

Today’s Question

“What have I ever done, to deserve even one, of the blessings I’ve know?”

Today’s Spiritual Thought:

No works of righteousness that I can perform will make me worthy to receive an eternal home in Heaven.

No matter how good I am, how many people I help, how much outreach ministry I perform, my efforts will still fall short and fail to procure for me the forgiveness I need.

See I am a wretched sinner, vile, unclean and worthy of death; yet God chose to make a way that I might have life and have that life more abundantly.

Why?

Why did God send His only son to be ridiculed, abused, rejected, persecuted, beaten and killed by death on a cross for me?

The answer is simple.  It is not because of me, but it is because He loved me.

God’s love for me is bigger than my worst sin.  His love is greater than my vilest outburst and His love reaches out beyond my greatest rejection and invites me to enter into life, liberty and the pursuit of eternal bliss.

It is not for deeds that I have done nor for things I can say, but it is because of a love so great it cannot be measured, contained or destroyed.

And the same love He has for me; He also has for you.

There is nothing we can do or say that can change God’s love for us and the only way we can be separated from that love, is if we refuse to accept it, by choosing to reject it.

“Oh how he loves you and me.  He gave His life, what more could he give?”

The question is what are we gong to give Him?

We don’t’ work to get saved, and though same may think we work to stay saved, I prefer to believe we work for Him because we are saved.

My works don’t make the difference, but His work in me does.

Will you let His love be as great in you as it can be and will you let Him complete His works in you?

Why, because He loves you and wants what is best for you.

Today’s Verses:

That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
John 3:15-17

Today’s Prayer:

Father, let your love be made manifest in me and may I love you with as much love as it is humanly possible to do so.
