Creation

Today’s Thought:

“In order to create there must be a dynamic force, and what force is more potent than love?” – Igor Stravinsky

Today’s Quote:

“As a house implies a builder, and a garment a weaver, and a door a carpenter, so does the existence of the Universe imply a Creator.” – Akiba

Today’s Question

Are you aware that: “In whatever direction you turn, you will see God coming to meet you; nothing is void of him, he himself fills all his work?” – Seneca The Younger

Today’s Bible Verses:            from Genesis 1:1-27

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: …
…And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters….
…And God said, Let the waters under the Heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so….
…And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so….
…And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:…
…And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good….
…And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.  So God created man in his own image,…

Today’s Spiritual Thought:

“There is one God, who made all things.
He governs the world by His providence.
That he might be worshipped by adoration, prayer and thanksgiving.” – Benjamin Franklin
It is impossible to account for the creation of the universe without the agency of a Supreme Being.”  - George Washington
The concept of making something from nothing is one of the many things that atests to the truth God’s ways are beyond us and His thoughts often defy our comprehension.  He spoke and it was.  How amazing is that?
Yet, even more amazing and awe inspiring is the fact that when God created man, He did not speak him into existence, rather He took the dust of the earth and formed man with His own hands.  Mankind is the first part of God’s creation to be physically touched by the hand of God.
Doesn’t that make you feel special?
He created us; and we exist for His pleasure.
“All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made..” – The Bible (John 1:3)
“And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.” – The Bible (Genesis 1:31)

Today’s Prayer:

Father, you made me and you don’t make mistakes.  And you gave me freedom of will.   May my will be surrendered to you and help me to become all you desire for me to be.
