The Secret for My Success
Today’s Thought:
“Success has nothing to do with what you gain in life or accomplish for yourself. It’s what you do for others.” – Danny Thomas
Today’s Quote:
“Better to love God and die unknown than to love the world and be a hero; better to be content with poverty than to die a slave to wealth; better to have taken some risks and lost than to have done nothing and succeeded at it; better to have lost some battles than to have retreated from the war; better to have failed when serving God than to have succeeded when serving the devil. What a tragedy to climb the ladder of success only to discover that the ladder was leaning against the wrong wall.” – Erwin W. Lutzer
Today’s Question
Have you ever stopped to consider that: “Success is a journey, not a destination?” – Ben Sweetland
Today’s Bible Verses: Matthew 25:33-40
And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Today’s Spiritual Thought:
Success is sought after by almost everyone to some degree and in some measure, but true success is rarely achieved to it’s fullest. What is true success and what is the secret to achieving it? For every Christian it is simply this: “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.” – The Bible (Deuteronomy 6:5) And the secret to achieving this endeavor is to obey these words that Jesus spoke: “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” - The Bible (Matthew 22:37-39) To love God with all that you are is to give Him all that you have, time, talent, desires, ambitions and actions; and in so doing we turn our efforts toward ministering to and meeting the needs of those around us. So that leaves this question: Just how successful do you really want to be?
Today’s Prayer:
Father, may I live not to be a success from the prospective of the world, but rather to be a success in your eyes.
