If Not By Faith – Then How

Today’s Thought:

“Religious faith has a lot to do with perspective.  One goldfish said to the other goldfish, ‘Do you believe in God?’  And the other goldfish said, ‘Of course I do.  Who do you think changes the water?’” – Bob Monkhouse

Today’s Quote:

“Faith is nothing but a living, wide-awake consciousness of God within.” – Mohandas K. Gandhi

Today’s Question

Have you ever considered that: “There are a thousand ways of pleasing God, but not one without faith?” – Anonymous

Today’s Bible Verses:                   Hebrews 11:1-6

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report.  Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Today’s Spiritual Thought:

To be a Christian and to live a Christian life one must have faith.  It is not an option; there is no room for debate.  Without faith, we cannot even believe there is a God: without belief in God we cannot accept that Jesus came to die for our sins; Without Jesus we have no hope for life.  So faith is imperative to our very existence as Children of God.  As God’s blood bought and redeemed children, we must: “Walk by faith, not by sight.” – The Bible (2 Corinthians 5:7)  We need to always remember and proclaim: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” – The Bible (Romans 1:16-17)
Spiritually speaking faith is to the soul what oxygen is to the body, it is impossible to survive without it.  “Faith hears the inaudible, sees the invisible, believes the incredible, and received the impossible.” – Anonymous

Today’s Prayer:

Father, I know I have a measure of faith, but sometimes my faith is not as great as I want it to be, so help me to grow my mustard seed of faith into an entire and mature plant producing all of the fruits of your spirit.
