Labors of Love

Today’s Thought:

“The highest reward for man’s toil is not what he gets for it, but what he becomes by it.” – John Ruskin

Today’s Quote:

“What one has, one ought to use; and whatever he does, he should do with all his might.” – Cicero

Today’s Question

Were you aware that: “Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it?” – Henry David Thoreau

Today’s Bible Verses:            Titus 3:3-7   &  James 2:17-18

For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

Today’s Spiritual Thought:

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” – The Bible (Romans 12:1)

“The more I want to get something done, the less I call it work.” – Richard Bach
It was a labor of love, that brought Jesus from “Heaven to earth; To show the way;
From the earth to the cross; My debt to pay; From the cross to the grave; From the grave to the sky.”
- Rick Founds (lyrics from ‘Lord I Lift Your Name On High’)
Because of this labor of love, by which God gave His only Son to die in our place: we can have life and have it more abundantly.
Dose it not then, stand to reason that the life which we now have because of Him, should be lived as a service of love for Him?
Bill Cosby said, “There is no labor a man can do that’s undignified, if he does it right.”
Our labor of love should be to live body, mind, heart and soul for the one who gave His all for us.
And remember this, there is no task to great or no endeavor to small to be done as an act of love for Him.

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” – The Bible (John 14:12)

Today’s Prayer:

Father, may every task that I do be done for you as an expression of love, not out of necessity to do it; but out of a desire to show you how much I love you.
