Rock and Roll and Religion (Part Five – The Final Chapter)

(While I could carry on this concept for some time, for now this will be the final chapter in this series.)

Today’s Question

If love is a battlefield and life is a game, shouldn’t we fight to win and play with all we got?

Today’s Spiritual Thought:

We are the champions my friend.

We will survive till the end.

Nobody knows but we are the champions

We are the champions -  of the world

This lyric comes from Queen’s “We are the Champions.” 

Of course, being a champion in this world is temporal and fleeting, but being a champion that is not of this world is eternal.

And if we are in Christ Jesus we are eternal champions of something far beyond this world.

However, while some have embraced this truth and act and behave like victors and not defeated souls, not all have grasped the magnitude of this truth.

So many churches and Christians today are dragging around with their heads hanging down to the ground; acting like they’ve lost their last friend and there is no hope left in the world.

It’s time to wake up and realize who we are in Christ.  We are blood bought redeemed; we are bigger than the some of our parts in Christ Jesus; we are over-comers and conquerors; we are champions, my friend.

Being a champion in spiritual terms means learning to love God and love others for this is the greatest of commandments and we know if we love God we will keep His commandments.

To be a champion simply means:

To laugh often and much:

To win the respect of the intelligent

  people and the affection of children;

To earn the appreciation of honest critics

 And endure the betrayal of false friends;

To appreciate beauty;

To find the best in others;

To leave the world a bet better,

 Whether by a healthy child,

 a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition;

To know even one life has breathed easier

because you lived.

This is to have succeeded.

 To live a life redeemed by God and that touches others with the love of God is to be a champion.  The kind of champion that is eternal.
