Worry

Today’s Thought:

“Worry is the sin we’re not afraid to commit.” – Unknown

Today’s Question

Do you have a problem too big for God to handle?

Today’s Spiritual Thought:

Francois de Fenelon said of worry, “Worry is the cross which we make for ourselves by over anxiety.”

And Jesus said we should be anxious for nothing but rather we should take up our cross and follow Him for His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

Worry can be debilitating.  Worry creates more anxieties and health issues for people than I think we sometimes realize.  So why do we worry?  Could it be because we don’t have enough faith?

Dr. Smiley Blanton, M.D. said of anxiety (worry), “Anxiety is the great modern plaque.  But faith can cure it.”

Without faith it is impossible to please God.  But by faith we can move mountains, traverse across seas, overcome giants and conquer spiritual foes.  And all that we must posses is faith the size of a grain of mustard seed.

I’ve heard some say that there is no problem so big that you and God can’t solve it, but I believe there is no problem to big for God to solve with or without our help but if He lets us help then I we are the blessed ones.

Don’t worry – Trust God – and you will never be disappointed or let down.

He will never fail you, even if you do fail Him.

Scriptures says for those who know to do good and do it not then that thing they are doing is a sin.  Worry is the act of not trusting God and not trusting Him is a sin.  So now that you know that you can stop worrying.

Dwight D. Eisenhower said, “’Worry’ is a word that I don’t allow myself to use.”  May we do more than not use the word, may we not engage in the act?

I know it’s easier said than done, but by faith even worry can be overcome and conquered.

Today’s Verses:

And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.  The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment. Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?  And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit? If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?  Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.  If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith? And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Luke 12:22-31

Today’s Prayer:

Father, I know worry doesn’t solve a problem, but you do.  I know I don’t need to worry but sometimes I do, so forgive my unbelief and help me to grow stronger in faith.
