Be The You – God Intended You To Be

Children often like to pretend to be characters they are not.  And why not it can be fun!  Often during the teen and preteen years, young people put on a mask of indifference to hide the pain that lies beneath the façade of who they are pretending to be.  And adults are just as bad: we have the tendency to put on a barrage of faces contingent upon which crowd we are with and who we think might be watching.  Yet there is one with whom no matter how many faces we may don or how many characters we may try to emulate – He sees the real person behind the mask.  In fact He looks beyond the outward appearance and sees into the very heart of the person.

When It comes to God, He already knows the details, He is aware of the scars and the pain and He knows the real from the fake.

Yet still we try to fool him, but it can’t be done.  We need to embrace the truth that if we would only learn to be real with God and others we would be more than the sum of anything else we could ever hope to be by pretending.
