It’s A Thanksgiving Thing

Thanksgiving is not just a day on the calendar.  It’s not just about turkey, stuffing and pumpkin pie.  Thanksgiving should be a way of life for a person who is a child of God.

We who have been given so much: obviously have more to be thankful for than is humanly possible to squeeze  into one day of thankful reflections.

If we were to just name each blessing each day that God bestows on us I often think we would never be able to cease the giving of thanks.

Not to be thankful when you have been given so much is in a sense akin to being ungratefully selfish and arrogant.

Try to make a conscience effort to be thanking God today for every single thing you know He has done or is doing for you today and you will be amazed at how many things you have taken for granted in days gone by.

I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.

Psalms 69:30

O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.  Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.

Today’s Prayer

Father, you are the image of pure perfection, goodness and all that is beautiful and righteous: however I do not always like what I see when I look into the mirror of my life because I know you don’t like what you see – so help me to change the image and become more beautiful in your sight with respect to how I live my life.
