The Confidence Factor

To be truly successful an individual must posses just enough confidence to overcome all obstacles, but not so much confidence that they become prideful or arrogant.

As Christians we need to remember that our confidence is not in our abilities or of our own capabilities; but rather our confidence should be rooted and established in the realization and truth of who God is within us.

Confidence in the power and presence, as well as in the promises of God will not lead us towards developing a haughty spirit or cause us to stumble or fall: rather it will make us stronger, more determined and greater servants for the glory and the honor of God and His kingdom.

You have to have confidence in your ability, and then be tough enough to follow through.”
Rosalynn Carter

By terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation; who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are afar off upon the sea:
Psalms 65:5

For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
Proverbs 3:26

Oh the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,  According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord;  In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.
Ephesians 3:10-12

The problem with most Christians today is that they are not short on the confidence in God but they are less than dynamic in their execution of their professed confidence.   We often say we believe in God and in all His promises but more often we live like we don’t really believe a word He says.

Today’s Prayer

Father, you’re faithful and true and dependable beyond anything else and I know that your yes is yea and your amen is fully final in all situations and for that I thank you.  And though I may know it in my head: forgive me when I don’t act like I know it in my heart.
My life is in You Lord
My strength is in You Lord
My hope is in
You Lord
In You, it’s in You
I’ll praise You with all of my life
I’ll praise You with all of my strength
With all of my life, with all of my strength
All my hope is in You
-  Lyrics from ‘My Life Is In You Lord’ by Daniel Gardner
