Tis Better to Have: Than to Be A Character
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
John 3:20-21
And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God? Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; Who will render to every man according to his deeds: To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:
Romans 2:3-10

Today’s Thoughts and Insights
“Life for some people is to sow wild oats during the week and then go to church Sunday and pray for crop failure.” - Anonymous
This would be an example of a person who probably is more of a character: rather than being a person who has good character.
And for anyone who knows me well, they know I don’t have an issue with being a character – but if you are a character without having character then you have missed the boat.
Scripture tells us that if we are in Christ we should bare spiritual fruit. If we are yielding the fruits of the spirit in our lives then we are well on our way to taking the steps necessary to developing the kind of character that will be pleasing to God.
God has a sense of humor and I don’t think He minds His children being characters once in a while, or in my case most of the time: but I also believe He expects His children to have a godly, respectful and loving character to go along with their character-like behaviors.
My goal is to be a character with character
Today’s Prayer
Father you are my all in all; your my everything, and in you I place my hopes and I want my desires to be in line with your will. I know you have created me to be one of those folks who is just a character by nature, but help me to have the kind of character, while I am being a character that will honor and please you.

I am rich in Him
Let the lost man say
I am found in Him
Let the blind man say
I can see again
Let the dead man say
I am born again
Holy Spirit come
Move in power“
I am rich in Him
