Ambassadors Of Peace
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God
Matthew 5:9
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

Today’s Thoughts and Insights
There was a song we used to sing back in the day, when I was a schoolboy that had lyrics that went something like this: “Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.”
As Christians we often ask God for peace in our lives because we know that He is the giver of true peace: yet in asking for peace are we actively endeavoring to be peacemakers?
In our interactions with family, friends, co-workers and acquaintances or even strangers are we peacemakers or do we do and say things that add to strife and disharmony amongst those we interact with?
We know we are in a spiritual battle as Christians: engaged in a fight against spiritual forces: yet often we forget that those spiritual principalities and powers are not actual flesh and blood: and we need to remember our victory over them does not come by our might or power but by God’s presence through His Spirit in us – because of the blood of the lamb and in the name of Jesus.
God has offered to us a peace that passes understanding: but often I wonder if we do not experience it to the fullest of it’s potential because we fail to be the Ambassadors of God’s peace that He desires us to be.
Today’s Prayer
Father you are the personification of peace, tranquility, hope and joy: yet often I fail to experience the fullness of who you want to be in me because of pride, arrogance, stubbornness and selfishness. Forgive me when I am weak and help me to become stronger in you and enable me to become an Ambassador of Peace for your glory to show the world that regardless of what is going on – there is true peace when you are given your proper place in my life..
