Better Days Are Coming
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
1 John 3:2
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
I Thessalonians 4:16-18
Quote of the Day
“The future… something which everyone reaches at the rate of sixty minutes an hour, whatever he does, whoever he is.” – C. S. Lewis
Today’s Thoughts and Insights
Isn’t it so wonderful to know that this place we are in; the circumstances that surround us are temporary? Our home (eternal) of course is not where we reside in a structure made of brick, wood or steel, but rather is a place with streets of gold, a crystal river, the throne room of God and of course the actual presence of God the Father and Jesus the Son.
If we are blood bought and redeemed our future is secured in Him. We are just passing through this time in this place: but while we are passing, we have much to do and many things to accomplish.
We are to labor until He comes. We are to endure and persevere to overcome and to rejoice: to give thanks and to bless the Lord at all times.
Better days are coming but that does not relinquish us from our responsibilities to work in the fields, to sow and reap the harvest and to labor from dawn till setting sun for His kingdom to bring Him glory.
Yes better days are coming, when we will see Him face to face; but the best day we have at this moment is this day which the Lord has made and given to us to do great things for Him: to declare His praises: to testify of His might acts: and to share His love with the world.
Don’t let your expectancy of what is ahead rob you of the blessing of what is possible right here and now.
Today’s Prayer
Father you my hope and my salvation: the glory and the lifter of my head: you are my rock and my strength and I know I have many great things to look forward to throughout eternity with you: but may I not become so focused on the future; that I miss the opportunities and the blessings of today.
“God made the world round so we could never see too far down the road.”
– Isak Dinesen
“Let the poor man say
I am rich in Him
Let the lost man say
I am found in Him
Let the blind man say
I can see again
Let the dead man say
I am born again
Holy Spirit come
Move in power“
I am rich in Him
Let the lost man say
I am found in Him
Let the blind man say
I can see again
Let the dead man say
I am born again
Holy Spirit come
Move in power“
