Servitude Is an Honor – Not A Burden

And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
Luke 16:15

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Philippians 2:3-5

Quote of the Day

“Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.” – Muhammed Ali

Today’s Thoughts and Insights

Servitude implies being submitted to something or someone who would have control over you.
As Christians we should count it a joy to be in a place of servitude to our Creator.

The word ‘servitude’ implies a negative connotation – I prefer to think of it as something more positive.  I like to think of it as a state of having an attitude towards servant-hood when it comes to living for God.

Ultimately our purpose and objective should be to serve and honor Him: and in so doing this – we by default end up serving one another.  For it is by our serving one another that we honor Him.

Many look at being a servant as a burden or even an imposition but I would contend it is rather to be counted as a blessing and a joy when we can do something to help or assist another person, whether it is physically or spiritually.

Even Jesus served His disciples, as well as the people who followed Him and gathered when He stopped to teach.

And are we not supposed to make it our life’s ambition to emulate Him in every way we can?

Are you willing to live in a state of servitude for God?  It would be one of the most honorable, rewarding and fulfilling lives a person could live: don’t ya think?

Today’s Prayer

Father you are fabulous, wonderful, amazing and glorious and I count it a joy to be a servant in your house or in your fields, wherever you need me:  help me to be faithful to serve and humble in my endeavors to minister to others for you.

“Had I but served my God with half of the zeal I served my king, he would not in my age have left me naked to my enemies.”
– William Shakespeare

Let the poor man say
I am rich in Him
Let the lost man say
I am found in Him
Let the blind man say
I can see again
Let the dead man say
I am born again
Holy Spirit come
Move in power
