The Pursuit of True Happiness

The fear of the Lord prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened. The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.  The way of the Lord is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity. The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.
Proverbs  10:27-30

Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid. For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Galatians 2:16-20

Quote of the Day

“Men are made for happiness, and anyone who is completely happy has a right to say to himself: ‘I am doing God’s will on earth.’” – Anton Checkov

Today’s Thoughts and Insights

The Constitution of the United States affords each of it’s citizens the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness: and I contend that life isn’t truly liberated unless one finds true happiness and genuinely true and real happiness can only be found in the Lord.

“Happiness is to know the Savior; living a life, within His favor; happiness is the Lord.” – Ira Stamphill (lyrics from ‘Happiness Is The Lord’)

Our capacity for real happiness and fulfillment as Christians is directly proportional to our willingness to delight ourselves in the Lord.
Scripture tells us to ask and it will be given; to seek and we will find; and to knock and the door will be open to us: to be happy we need only to walk with the Lord – to live in His power – to allow His Spirit the liberty to work through us and in so doing we will find that our greatest happiness will come in seeing what God can do in us and how we can bring glory to Him by our obedience.
If you want true liberty and want to pursue real happiness – just let go and let God work through you and genuine peace, happiness and fulfillment will be yours.

Today’s Prayer

Father you are my joy and my delight: my hope and my strength.  My desire is to praise and honor you with my words and deeds and I know in so doing I will find contentment, peace and happiness.  Thank you!

“There is no cure for birth and death save to enjoy the interval.”
– George Santayana

Let the poor man say
I am rich in Him
Let the lost man say
I am found in Him
Let the blind man say
I can see again
Let the dead man say
I am born again
Holy Spirit come
Move in power
