Always Be Thankful

Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:
Psalms 50:14

I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.
Psalms 69:30

Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.
Psalms 95:2
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.  For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
Psalms 100:4-5
Quote of the Day

“Disregard your complaints and discover your gratitude.  Release your trouble and restate your blessings.” – Anonymous

Today’s Thoughts and Insights

Do you ever wonder how frustrated God must get with some of His children, who take His blessings for granted?
Often, just like the child who is over indulged, many Christians assume just because God has blessed them, it is His duty and responsibility to continue to do so regardless of whether they show any hint of appreciation or thankfulness.

Have you ever stopped to ponder this notion: that if God did nothing more for you for the rest of your life, and He never gave you anything beyond having given His son to die in your place, so that you could have an eternity in Heaven rather than spend the rest of forever burning in torment in the fires of hell, which is what we deserve: you would be blessed beyond measure?
Yet, even though salvation is a gift so much greater than anything we could deserve: God loves us so much that He wants to continue to poor out blessing untold into our lives.  But how sad it is when we fail to give thanks (and I’m not referring to a once a year recognition in November): rather I’m referring to a daily act of thankfulness by which we acknowledge how amazingly blessed we are and just how awesomely gracious and giving our Heavenly Father is.

Giving thanks with a grateful heart goes beyond just uttering a few words of thanks:  it is more an attitude of living in a manner that demonstrates our appreciation, gratitude and respect for our Heavenly Father, that shows the world that we know just what an honor it is so belong to and be a part of the Family of God.

Hopefully our lifestyle of appreciative gratitude will make those who don’t know Him want to know Him so they can be just as blessed as we are.

Today’s Prayer

Father you are gracious, generous, merciful and benevolent towards us and I am so grateful to be blood bought and redeemed and on top of that, to be so blessed by being able to experience your love, you mercy, your forgiveness and your presence in my life each day.  Help me to show the world why being a child of God is such an honor.  May my attitude reflect my gratitude and may my actions demonstrate my thankfulness.

Let the poor man say
I am rich in Him
Let the lost man say
I am found in Him
Let the blind man say
I can see again
Let the dead man say
I am born again
Holy Spirit come
Move in power
