Let Your Peace Begin With God
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7
Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Colossians 3:12-15

“In a world filled with causes for worry and anxiety… we need the peace of God standing guard over our hearts and minds.” – Jerry W. McCant
Today’s Thoughts and Insights
In the world in which we live there seems to be a lot of talk about reaching agreements that will lead to peace. This cry is heralded internationally as well as within the boarders of our own nation – yet no real peace seems to ever come.
On a smaller scale, many people seek peace for their own lives. Yet the quest to have peace of mind seems to elude most.
And here is why I think this problem continues to exist.
Individuals, as well as nations, by in large, are seeking for peace in all the wrong places and without the right resources.
Most seek peace in their wisdom or ideas and with philosophies and ideologies – and inadvertently these will always fail. There is only one source to turn to and one reality to deal with if one wants true genuine peace – and that is God.
God can bring peace to turmoil and He can provide peace in the midst of calamity.
The peace that God gives is rooted in the fundamental understanding that He has it all under control and all things will work out for good if we will just surrender and submit ourselves to His will.
This does not mean that there will not be troubles and trials: situation and calamities; frustration and even potential reasons for anxiety – but it does mean that regardless of these things we can know that all is good and we are not alone. God has our back, our front flank and even the perimeters that extend on either side of us. His spirit is within us and His power and glory are all around us – we need to just learn to abide in these things, surrender to His power and open ourselves to His possibilities and we will be amazed when He is in control, just how peaceful our lives can be.
If you really want peace in your life – let your peace begin with God and then you’ll find you don’t have much left to worry about.
Today’s Prayer
Father you are so stupendous; you are the author and finisher of my faith, my strong defense against the enemies of my soul; you are my salvation, my hope and my peace. Help me learn to rest, abide and trust always in you for all things, all the time, without doubt or wavering.
“Peace is not the absence of conflict, but the presence of God no matter what the conflict.”

I am rich in Him
Let the lost man say
I am found in Him
Let the blind man say
I can see again
Let the dead man say
I am born again
Holy Spirit come
Move in power“
I am rich in Him
Let the lost man say
I am found in Him
Let the blind man say
I can see again
Let the dead man say
I am born again
Holy Spirit come
Move in power“
