A Good Godly Philosophy

Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.  Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth. For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
Psalms 37:3-11

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Colossians 3:16

Quote of the Day

“This is a sane, wholesome, practical, working faith:  That it is a man’s business to do the will of God; second, that God himself takes on the care of that man; and third, that therefore that man ought never to be afraid of anything.” – George MacDonald

Today’s Thoughts and Insights

Philosophies for life and how we should live or can live better are a dime a dozen.  New books are published weekly that deliberate on the subject of how to succeed in life by this means or that.

The trouble with most of these philosophies is that they are man made: based on human wisdom and dependent on an individual’s ability to control, manage and rely on himself or herself.

These philosophies, which are nothing more than ideologies formalized into outlined plans for execution are limited at best and eventually destined for failure to some degree or another.

For you see, if your philosophy for living life is not rooted and grounded upon the solid rock and if it does not have as the fundamental principal the ideal that you must completely and totally surrender and yield to God and trust Him implicitly then you will never experience ultimate success, nor will you ever avoid the pitfalls of discouragement, disappointment and eventually failure.

The only sure fired, one hundred percent guaranteed philosophy of life that will always yield success is this: “I surrender all – all to thee my blessed Savior – I surrender all.” – Judson W. Van DeVenter (lyrics from ‘I Surrender All’)

Today’s Prayer

Father you are reliable, dependable, trustworthy and inspiring.  I know all I need to do to succeed in life – is to let go – and let you perfect your will, accomplish your plans and fulfill your purpose in me.

“There may be those on earth who dress better or eat better, but those who enjoy the peace of God sleep better.”
– L. Thomas Holdcroft

Let the poor man say
I am rich in Him
Let the lost man say
I am found in Him
Let the blind man say
I can see again
Let the dead man say
I am born again
Holy Spirit come
Move in power
- from ‘Let The River Flow’ by Darrell Evans
