Gratitude is Always the Right Attitude

I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.
Psalms 69:30

O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.  Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.  For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.
Psalms 95:1-3

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
Psalms 100:4-5

Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
 Philippians 4:4-6
Quote of the Day

“We tend to forget that happiness doesn’t come as a result of getting something we don’t have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have.” – Frederick Keonig

Today’s Thoughts and Insights

It isn’t hard to find a person with an attitude these days: but it can be more challenging, than probably it should be, to find a person with an attitude of gratitude.

When one stops to consider how gracious and loving God is in relationship to how sinful and wicked humanity can be – there is good reason to pause and be grateful.

As Christians when we recognize how lost we are and how desperate our plight is, if we had to pay the wages for our sins – we should be exceedingly grateful that God has given His Son to die in our place – so that now we have life and life more abundantly.

We are so blessed, that often I fear we become complacent and expect, rather than appreciate God’s goodness and mercy towards us.

God gives us so much more than we deserve – is it really too much for Hm to ask to expect us to be thankful?  I think no.

Remember an attitude of gratitude is not only what we should have but also what God expects.

Today’s Prayer

Father you are so good, merciful, gracious, kind and giving and often I fail to be as appreciative and thankful as I should be.  Forgive me for those times and thank you!

“Gratitude is the memory of the heart.”
– Jean Baptiste Massieu

Let the poor man say
I am rich in Him
Let the lost man say
I am found in Him
Let the blind man say
I can see again
Let the dead man say
I am born again
Holy Spirit come
Move in power
