Thought for Saurday, September 22nd

A Question About God and Life

“Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.”
-       S. A. Kierkeqaard

I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John   14:6

The question for the day is this:  Is God pro-life or pro-choice?

Most, if not all of you have already answered that question with little or no thought or need for reflection.

However, I want you to consider this question from a philosophically spiritual perspective.

Let’s begin by breaking the question down.  First is God pro-life?

Since God created mankind in His own image and He breathed into him the breath of life, I would conjecture that God is most definitely pro-life.

The second part of this question asks; Is God pro-choice?

Remember we are not speaking from   a literal, physical point of view but rather a spiritually philosophical context: and thus doing, I would contend that since it is God’s desire that all humanity accept life in Him; vis-a-ve the second birth through His gift of salvation: that He is also pro-choice.

As the giver of life He is by nature an advocate of life: and since it is His desire that none should perish, but all would come to repentance:  it is also His desire that all would choose life in Him.

So my answer to today’s question would be yes.  He is both pro-life and pro-choice from a spiritual vantage point.

What would your answer be?

Today’s Prayer

Father, may I cherish the physical life you have given me to live and may I also embrace and be thankful for the choice you have given to me for an eternal life in you for all eternity.

I have a Maker
He formed my heart
Before even time began
My life was in his hands.
I have a Father
He calls me His own
He'll never leave me
No matter where I go
He knows my name
He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
And He hears me when I call
