‘It’ is In the Attitude
“We who lived in concentration camps can remember the men who walked through the huts comforting others, giving away their last piece of bread. They may have been few in number, but they offer sufficient proof that everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of human freedoms, - to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances – to choose one’s own way .”
- Viktor Frankl
Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Philippians 4:4-8
Much is made these days of something called the ‘It’ factor.
What is the ‘It’ factor?
Some might claim it is the looks; while others might say it is the knowledge: while yet others would profess it is the talent.
I tend to think the real ‘It’ factor needed to garner and foster success in life is the attitude.
If you are one of those people who when life gives you lemons you turn them into lemonade you have what is the good makings of the ‘It’ factor.
Spiritually, speaking, we can’t succeed without God, His power and His presence in our lives regardless of what our attitude might be; However if we want to please Him we need to employ the ‘It’ factor in our daily lives in order to become and be all that He desires us to be.
When is the last time you had an attitude check? Is ‘It’ all that it could or should be?
Today’s Prayer
Father, along with an attitude of gratitude; may I also have an attitude of praise; an attitude of surrender; and an attitude of service and an attitude of hope and joy that is infectious and pleasing to you.
“I have a Maker
He formed my heart
Before even time began
My life was in his hands.
I have a Father
He calls me His own
He'll never leave me
No matter where I go
He knows my name
He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
And He hears me when I call “
He formed my heart
Before even time began
My life was in his hands.
I have a Father
He calls me His own
He'll never leave me
No matter where I go
He knows my name
He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
And He hears me when I call “
- Lyrics from ‘He Knows My Name’ by Tommy Walker
