No Room for Superiority

“Never look down on someone unless you’re helping them up.”
-       Jesse James

Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God. Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.  The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:) That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached; How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree: Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly; Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.  And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.  To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.  While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 10:33-45

God is not influenced or affected by things like gender, race, a person’s social standing, economic status, intellectual prowess or talents and abilities: He is only concerned with the condition of their soul and whether or not they have accepted His gift of salvation through His son, Christ Jesus.

God doesn’t even look at us as being the biggest sinner or the worst looser: He sees as disobedient souls in need of His saving grace.

God doesn’t see pretty or ugly, gifted or challenged, geek, nerd, jock, socialite or anything else: He simply sees a life He loves, an individual He created and a soul His son died to save.

In God’s economy there is not room for superiority complexes or preferential treatment: What a great example He has set for us, wouldn’t it be wonderful If we would all see each other as equally valuable and important within His kingdom?  If we could, I would imagine, we would have far less stress and strife within our churches.

Today’s Prayer

Father, help me, when I look at those around me to see souls in need of help, love and encouragement, who posses, unlimited potential in who and what they can do and be for you:  help me see them – the same way you see me.

I have a Maker
He formed my heart
Before even time began
My life was in his hands.
I have a Father
He calls me His own
He'll never leave me
No matter where I go
He knows my name
He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
And He hears me when I call
