Dare to Be A Dreamer
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
Joel 2:28
But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
Acts 2:16-17
Where there is no vision, the people perish:
Proverbs 29:18

Today’s Thoughts and Insights:
Most, if not all, of us have recollections from our childhood days about those things we use to dream about and hope for in the future. I wonder how many of those dreams from youth were abandoned or surrendered to our teen years and then adulthood – probably quite a few.
Joseph, the one with the coat of many colors, was a dreamer in his youth. Scripture even records some of the dreams he shared with his family. Joseph grew toward adulthood and found himself betrayed, beaten up and sold into slavery by his brothers, only then to be falsely accused by his master’s wife which got him thrown into jail. Yet Joseph never gave up on the dreams that God had given him. And the rest of the story finds Joseph’s dreams becoming a reality.
As Christians many times God gives us dreams and visions of what His desires for us, by His Spirit, are: yet when the road gets rough and the way becomes tough: we often abandon or abdicate those dreams for a easier path or a more comfortable life.
God has a history of doing amazing and wonderful things in the lives of His people, but often the results of the dreams and visions He gives for these great things to be accomplished; but often these dreams require commitment and sacrifice on those He chooses to give them too.
But is there any price to great or any demand to unreasonable when it comes to experiencing what God desires for us? I would think not, yet so many times we fail to become all that we can be or accomplish all that is possible, because we let fear rule our hearts or we let inconvenience regulate our comfort levels and our peace of mind.
If you are but willing to take up your cross and follow Him – where ever that may lead: God will give you dreams and visions bigger and greater than anything you could have ever thought up or imagined on your own.
Are you daring enough to dream big with God?
Today’s Prayer
Father, your plans for me are so much greater, bigger and more fulfilling than I can even imagine. Help me to be willing to see clearly: to have a vision for your will and your work and to be daring enough to dream what many might consider the impossible dream when it comes to accomplishing and achieving your plan for my life.
“Nothing happens unless first we dream.”
– Carl Sandburg
“This is my cry: This is my song,
You are my guiding light, when the way is unknown;
And when the sunny skies, turn shades of gray,
I’ll stay close by your side: As you lead the way.
Jesus lead on I will follow:
Jesus lead on, let your love light the way… “
