Clear as Mud

And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
John 1:5

To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.  Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.  For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;  And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
Ephesians 3:10-19

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Isaiah 55:8-9

Quote of the Day

“You do not really understand something unless you can explain it to your grandmother.” – Albert Einstein

Today’s Thoughts and Insights:

Jonathan Cainer purportedly believed this; “Our brains are not capable of comprehending the infinite so, instead we ignore it and eat cheese on toast.”

When it comes to our ability to understand the working and ways of God in our life sometimes things seem to be as ‘clear as mud’ to us.  And sadly, often when this occurs we abandon our quest for insight and become somewhat negligent in our search for understanding.  While it is true we can not ever fully comprehend nor understand the fullness of the totality of all that God is and all that He has done and is capable of doing – we should never cease striving to know Him better and understand Him more fully.

In an oxymoronic way as a Christian the connotation of clear as mud should mean:
                                    M        -           memorable
                                    U         -           understandable
                                    D         -           doable

Every encounter we have with God, even if we do not comprehend the totality of it’s scope and measure should always be memorable.

And though we may not fully grasp all that God is we should be able to understand that His grace is sufficient and He is in control.

And finally, we should know that whatever God requests or requires of us is always doable.

It may often seem to be as ‘clear as mud’ in our minds eye, but when it is ‘clear as mud’ in our spiritual perception it doesn’t restrict or restrain us form experiencing optimum success and victory through Christ Jesus.

Today’s Prayer

Father, you are far greater, more powerful, truer, wiser and more knowledgeable and capable than I can sometimes comprehend, but than that is what makes you so awesome.  Help me to see you and you alone and the wonderment of all that is your works even when I don’t understand what is going on.

“You cannot speak of the ocean to a frog that lives in a well.”
– Chuang Tse

This is my cry: This is my song,
You are my guiding light, when the way is unknown;
And when the sunny skies, turn shades of gray,
I’ll stay close by your side: As you lead the way.
Jesus lead on I will follow:
Jesus lead on, let your love light the way…
