Are You Busy
And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
1 Samuel 15:22
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 5:16
For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
Hebrews 16:27

Today’s Thoughts and Insights:
The Bible is resplendent with action words. We are told to go; to make; to labor, to press; to build; to labor; to seek; to love; and the list could go on and on.
It would seem from this preponderance of action infused instructions that God wants His children to stay busy, laboring for Him until He comes.
A healthy spiritual life should be a very busy life. Busy with respect to doing things that are of an eternal nature that will bring glory and honor to God.
Many of us find ourselves staying excessively busy: but we need to step back and evaluate the purpose for our business. Do we stay busy promoting and furthering the gospel and the Kingdom of God or are we more wrapped up in a sense of business that fulfills nothing more than a sense of fleshly gratifications with no long term eternal results?
It is important that we as Christians keep our hand to the plow, so to speak: we need to continue marching onward and forward; and we need to labor for the Master from the dawn till the setting of the sun; taking up our cross to follow Him. And we need to be busy about Kingdom business and not worldly business.
So then, are you busy or are you really busy doing what really matters and what will really count for all eternity?
Today’s Prayer
Father, you are able to do more than I can imagine doing; see more than I could ever see and you know more than I will ever know: yet you still call on me to do the day to day work that will benefit you and your kingdom. Help me to be faithful in those things and may I stay spiritually busy living for you.
“Blessed is he who has found his work; let him ask no other blessedness”
– Carlyle
“This is my cry: This is my song,
You are my guiding light, when the way is unknown;
And when the sunny skies, turn shades of gray,
I’ll stay close by your side: As you lead the way.
Jesus lead on I will follow:
Jesus lead on, let your love light the way… “
