Traveling On A Road Less Traveled
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.
Psalms 37:23-24
Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Matthew 7:12-14
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Today’s Thoughts and Insights:
The journey of life has the potential to lead us down many different roads. And most of us have had that experience, somewhere along the way, where we find ourselves at a crossroad and the decision we make as to which direction in life we will go will not only impact our life significantly – it could in effect change the entire direction and composition of our life as we know it.
This same principle holds true for our spiritual lives as well.
Many times we find ourselves at the crossroad of complacency and apathy or surrender and commitment: The one direction will take us down a path of commonality and spiritual stagnation; while the other path could lead us to a deeper and more meaningful relationship with the Lord.
Marcel Proust put it this way, “The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.”
Spiritually speaking we need to choose the road not necessarily paved and pleasant but rather we need to take the road that may not have been so well traveled but along it’s pathway there will be opportunities for growth and a deepening of our relationship with the Lord; which thus enables us to grow and mature spiritually.
So as you journey, though your life; be open to taking a often more challenging path because when it comes to spiritual challenges the results are always worth the effort it takes to achieve them.
Today’s Prayer
Father, you are not limited by time and space as are we mortals: yet we know you understand the journey we are on and you have many and often challenging plans to help us grow and develop in our walk with you. Help me to always be willing to choose the road best suited for brining me closer to you and your will for my life..
“Every moment is travel -- if understood.”
–
Benjamin Disracli
“This is my cry: This is my song,
You are my guiding light, when the way is unknown;
And when the sunny skies, turn shades of gray,
I’ll stay close by your side: As you lead the way.
Jesus lead on I will follow:
Jesus lead on, let your love light the way… “
