He Is – Therefore I Am

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

Today’s Thoughts and Insights:

God is, always has been, always will be and He is the one who made all that has been made: hence He created me – therefore because He is – and because He did – I am.

This of course is a rather literal stating of what would seem obvious in relationship to the concept of a physical reality – yet this reality transcends the physical realm and impacts even more tremendously the spiritual realm of my existence.

God is in everything, a part of everything and therefore because without Him I would be nothing both physically and spiritually – it is rather safe to say that spiritually speaking: I only am because He is.

I can do nothing of an eternal nature in and of myself, unless it is somehow impacted, influenced and even orchestrated by God.

The long and short of it is, as a Christian, I am totally completely dependent upon Him and His power and presence in my life.

Yet, if I somehow, by my sinful nature, fail to give God His proper place and allow Him to have total authority over my life: I then become less than I am capable of being and I fall short of attaining the full potential of who I could be because I do not allow Him to be all He can and wants to be in me.

Sadly, most of us do this.  We are because He is: yet we are not all that we could be and should be because we don’t allow Him to be all that HE is and wants to be in us.

Today’s Prayer

Father, you are everything that is good, right and holy and I know you want to manifest your power, presence and righteousness in me: forgive me when I hold you back and fail to give you complete control.  I want more of you and less of me so that can truly say I am because I allow You to be all that you can be in me.  And thus all the praise and honor and glory belong to You.
